
Caffeine is available not only for Linux. I use alike software on Windows and macOS as well. Again it is listet here, because the Windows-version is nicely available as PortableApp.
Caffeine is basically a simple thing. It injects virtual mouse-moves or keypresses into the input-stream. This stops the screensaver from triggering.
There are many versions of this tool, all with basically the same functionality. A good one will allow to
- switch on/off with a single click
- enable for a number of hours
