Being on the road means living in a hotel. This is for days if you are lucky and for weeks if the travel is too much effort.
This kind of poses the question about how to spend the evenings?
If you are lucky, you can work some paid extra hours to make it worth. In case this is not possible, how to make this not a complete waste of time? You cannot go out every night, trust me. Like everything else, this becomes boring if it becomes your
only option.
Personally, I like to spend an evening on my own, but what are my options?
Regarding music, at work you might want to accustically isolate yourself from your environment, like e.g. a large crowded office. In this case a mobile audio-source in combination with a noise-cancelling headset can do miracles.
The iPad can be quite a media-center. It is breath-taking, how versatile this small thing is.
Admitted, the amount of storage is rather limited. But even a very small iPad will serve the purpose.

With a job like ours, sports is … important. Bla bla … it is healthy … bla bla.
Even I cannot hear it anymore. Do not do it because of anybody talking that bla bla.
Find your own relation to it. Myself I feel better when I do some sports occasionally.
For a time in my life, I have done too much sports and it did me no good in the end.
So find a moderate mix and a level you enjoy. That’s it. That’s all.

Often enough, when I come back to the hotel, I want lie down and relax. The bloody old sequential TV is likely not a solid option.
I faced this problem and was looking for a solution.
For now let us make the assumption that your hotel-room offers WLAN and a TV with a spare HDMI-slot: Pack your Playstation 3!
I own one and ignore for a long time already. When turning back to “travelling consultancy”, because I did not get a job around my home, I faced this problem: I want a media-centre. I want Music, Video and Gaming.
